  • What is a hostel?

    A hostel is typically inexpensive lodging with common areas such as a shared bathroom, bedroom, living room and kitchen. You trade a bit of privacy for an economical price.

  • What’s for breakfast?

    Breakfast will be self-prepared each morning since everyone will be on a different schedule. Breakfast includes a pancake and waffle bar, oatmeal, and coffee.

  • How is the cell service?

    Phone service can be spotty. (att typically has the best reception.) you'll get service in town, but not in other parts of the peninsula.

  • What is the typical weather?

    Seward is on the water, so expect rain. Our weather is unpredictable, so come prepared. (dress in layers.) for most of the summer months, it will be daylight for the majority of the day. Temperatures is around 50-70 degrees.

  • Do we share bathrooms?

    Some accommodations include shared bathroom facilities, while others offer private bathrooms. No worries, though. You can reserve your shower time, or use it whenever it is available. The inn has an outdoor shower with hot water that is first-come-first served. And, there's an "Outhouse" located in the back yard with a flushable toilet.

  • Can I cook during my stay?

    Yes! The inn has two fully-equipped kitchens, and a gas grill is available. The yurt village has an outdoor kitchen with a microwave, sink, refrigerator, camp stove, and gas grills with burners. Note: personal food should not be kept in any sleeping areas, due to wildlife safety.

  • Are pets allowed?

    Yes! Pets are allowed in the cabins, yurts and campers only. They are not allowed inside the inn. There is a nonrefundable $25 pet fee and you will be asked to comply with pet policies.

  • How do I ship my fish home?

    If you catch fish and want to have it processed, that will be available to you in town. The fish will be boxed in an insulated container. You simply check it onto the airline like a checked bag. Your airline may have additional checked baggage fees.

  • Can you store luggage if I arrive early?

    We’re not able to store luggage. If you arrive before check-in, plan to keep your bags with you while you explore or see our Local Travel Guide section for other possibilities.

  • Is parking free?

    Yes. Free self-parking is provided.

  • How far are you from Kenai Fjords National Park?

    We’re within about a 15-minute drive of kenai fjords national park. We’re also about 4.6 miles from the kenai fjords national park visitor center.
