Nauti Otter FAQ
What to Expect when You Visit the Nauti Otter

Here are the answers to the questions our guest most frequently ask.
What exactly is a hostel?
A hostel is typically inexpensive lodging with common areas such as a shared bathroom, bedroom, living room and kitchen. You trade a bit of privacy for an economical price.
What will I have for breakfast?
Breakfast will be self-prepared each morning since everyone will be on a different schedule. Breakfast includes a pancake and waffle bar, and coffee.
Will I have cell service?
Phone service can be spotty. (ATT typically has the best reception.) You'll get service in town, but not in other parts of the peninsula.
What's the weather like?
Seward is on the water, so expect rain. Our weather is unpredictable, so come prepared. (Dress in layers.) For most of the summer months, it will be daylight for the majority of the day. Temperatures is around 60-70 degrees.
Do we share bathrooms?
Yes! No worries, though. You can reserve your shower time, or use it whenever it is available. The inn has an outdoor shower with hot water that is first-come-first served. And, there's an "outhouse" located in the back yard with a flushable toilet.
Will I be able to cook?
Yes! The Inn has two fully-equipped kitchens, and a gas grill is available. The Yurt Village has an outdoor kitchen with a microwave, sink, refrigerator, and gas grills with burners.
Note: Personal food should not be kept in any sleeping areas, due to wildlife safety.
Are pets allowed at the Nauti Otter?
Yes! Pets are allowed in the cabins, yurts and campers only. They are not allowed inside the Inn. There is a nonrefundable $15 pet fee and you will be asked to comply with pet policies.
How do I ship my fish home?
If you catch fish and want to have it processed, that will be available to you in town. The fish will be boxed in an insulated container. You simply check it onto the airline like a checked bag. Your airline may have additional checked baggage fees.
Oops. I forgot what I was gonna ask.
No problem at all. Feel free to give us a call when you remember what you wanted to ask. We look forward to meeting you!
